Hey there, fellow adventurers! My name is Karis, the charismatic spirit behind Karismatic Adventures LLC. I'm your go-to travel guru for creating the most unforgettable scuba diving experiences in tropical paradises and the good ol' USA. Now, I may be the face and voice of this venture, but I've got a fantastic sidekick—my husband Josh. You can usually find us exploring the depths together, always seeking that next great underwater experience.
So, why scuba diving, you ask? Well, it all started in the Dominican Republic. Josh has always been something of a fish, naturally at home in the water. While we were vacationing there, he couldn't resist trying out the scuba gear in the pool. At that time, I was around 350 lbs and wasn't sure diving was something I could comfortably enjoy. Inspired by Josh's aquatic affinity, I decided to take charge of my life, lost the weight, and by 2021, I was not only comfortable but thrilled to be diving right alongside him.
Our scuba journey kicked off right here in town, believe it or not. We got our diving certification in an indoor pool! It's honestly that easy to get started. Once we got that coveted certification, the world—or should I say the seven seas?—opened up for us. We've explored everything from a hauntingly beautiful sunken ship in Bonaire to drifting dreamily along the currents in Cozumel. And let me tell you, nothing—not a single thing—can beat the surreal and heartwarming experience of encountering a sea turtle casually swimming by as if it’s just another day in paradise.

Karismatic Adventures is the way to go!
Karis went above and beyond, and not just on booking my travel bundle. I have used other TA’s in the past and their involvement usually ended once the vacation was booked, but not Karis. She was on top of everything when we missed our connecting flight making sure the airline got us vouchers and hotel accommodations. When the airline lost our luggage she stayed up until nearly midnight tracking them down to ensure they would at least be at our destination when we arrived. Once we made it to our resort I messaged her about some issues I had with our room and she promptly alerted the resort, I had someone knocking on my door 2 hours later to rectify all the issues. Once we made it home she helped me file the claim for our travel delay, lost luggage, and travel interruption. I will definitely be using Karis as my TA for all future travel adventures!!

Appreciation post for our amazing incredible travel advisor Karis Joyce Shaffer at Karismatic Adventures #mykarismaticadventures. This was the first time Dillon and I have ever traveled out of the country and our first time flying together, being responsible for our selves. Karis was there for us every step of the way! She was able to answer every question asap and never made me feel silly or like a huge bother! When we had big bumps in the road she was on top of it! She also gifted us these beautiful tumblers to use on our trip! Because not only does she do vacations but she also makes beautiful things at Karismatic Creations Who does that!?!?! Please please please go like, follow, and message her for any of your vacation planning, beautiful things needing, etc!! So wonderfully blessed to have her guidance on our first trip out of the United States!!!! And when I say 1st- we were super newbies lol embarrassingly so!! Karis thank you so much for everything you do!!!!!!

Karis was great to work with. My wife and I have never traveled to the Caribbean and had no idea what options we had, other than a long list on Google. The process couldn't have been any easier for us and Karis was always available to answer our (too numerous) questions. Travel plans have never been so easy thanks to her. First Time On An Airplane!
Karis is great and very accommodating. If she didn’t have answer she would go above and beyond to find it and make sure I was safe on my travels. My international first trip so far has been good because of the help I received and she is still periodically checking to see how things are going.

Karis is always sweet, attentive and listens to what I want out of a trip! My experience was beautiful and I feel confident that she can put together any idea for a trip that I have.
